An extraordinary talent…

-Luis Alfaro, Center Theatre Group

Janet has enjoyed a multi-faceted career that includes acting, voiceover, screenwriting, and teaching high school theatre.  Happily, she’s found that the green room, the classroom, and the writer’s room have plenty in common, and feels lucky to have spent time in all three. While raising her daughter, Janet taught full-time.  Now the proud mom of a classical violinist, she is thrilled to be performing again.

Janet can be seen soon in the upcoming Apple series Government Cheese starring David Ayewolo and the comedy feature Omi, in which she plays an Israeli Krav Maga expert who comes back from the dead to school her rabbi granddaughter in self-defense. She’s guest-starred on top shows like Pretty Little Liars and shared the big screen with Laurence Fishburne and Keke Palmer in the ever-popular Akeelah and the Bee.

A busy voiceover artist, she voices Utuyama, manager of the Imperial brothel, in the new Kenji Nakamura anime Mononoke: Phantom in the Rain. She can also be heard on many commercials, podcasts and audiobooks.

Janet has premiered the work of leading playwrights, as well as her solo material, on both coasts. She also co-wrote the feature film Bellyfruit, starring Michael Peña.

When she’s not working, Janet loves to dance, garden and travel, most recently to Iceland. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and The Drama Studio in London.
